Science Centre AHHAA

AHHAA – is a science centre that started its activity on September 1, 1997 as a Tartu University project. In the year of 2000 AHHAA moved into Tartu Tähetorn premises, in 2004 a relevant foundation was set up. Since 2009 AHHAA has been hosting its visitors in Lõunakeskus in Tartu and in Tallinn on Vabaduse square. AHHAA mission is offering the attractive and innovative multi-functional teaching environment for gaining new knowledge through the purpose-oriented services. The contractor was Teaduskeskus AHHAA SA and construction supervision was provided by Tallinna Linnaehitus.

We fulfilled different waterproofing works through the contractor’s request.

What we did

We installed waterproofing with protective heat insulation on different substrates.

What we used

Waterproofing of the centre piling sheet pits and elevator shaft was done with the laminated membrane GRACE Preprufe 160R. In the basement slab waterproofing we used more durable and thicker laminated membrane GRACE Preprufe 300R. The car park outer walls and the building outer walls were waterproofed with the laminated membrane GRACE Bituthene 4000, the edges were sealed with liquid membrane. For heat insulation we installed heat protection plates EPS120 above and below – drainage mat Iso-Drain 8 Diagonal.
